Enex Technologies Drives Discussion on Future-Proof Data Center Solutions at Data Center Nation(DCN) in Milan

Enex Technologies, the Climate-Tech leader in advanced cooling technologies and natural refrigerants solutions, has hosted a panel discussion with ETS engineering experts.

Milan, IT, April 02, 2025 Enex Technologies, a Climate-Tech leader in advanced and environmentally conscious cooling and heating solutions, today concluded a highly engaging and insightful panel discussion at Data Center Nation, held at Allianz MICO Convention Centre at Milan.

The panel, titled “Pioneering Future-Proof Solutions for Data Centers Efficiency and Reliability,” brought together industry experts to explore the evolving landscape of data center design, energy efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainable cooling technologies. The session, moderated by Luca Marini, Marcom & ESG Director at Enex Technologies, featured key insights from:

  • Mirko Simoni, Sales Manager Italy – HVAC at Emicon – Enex Technologies
  • Giuseppe Pilone, Product Management Manager – HVAC at Emicon – Enex Technologies
  • Gianpietro Locatelli, General Director at ETS S.p.A.
  • Giambattista Micheli, Technological Systems Designer & EGE at ETS S.p.A.

Discussions centered around the critical role of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in optimizing data center design. Key takeaways from the panel included:

  • BIM’s Crucial Role: Building Information Modeling is essential for comprehensive data center design, reducing construction time and costs while minimizing potential interferences.
  • Energy Efficiency is Paramount: Data centers must prioritize energy efficiency to comply with evolving regulations and reduce their carbon footprint, striving for a PUE of less than 1.3.
  • Low GWP Refrigerants are the Future: The industry is moving towards refrigerants with low GWP to minimize environmental impact, with regulations mandating the use of GWP < 750 for chillers with cooling capacity > 12 kWf starting in 2027.
  • The Importance of FAT: Factory Acceptance Testing is the only guarantee of results in an era of self-certification, ensuring that the theoretical performance matches real-world outcomes.

Close collaboration between design firms, equipment manufacturers, and other stakeholders is crucial for developing customized and effective data center solutions. Enex Technologies is committed to providing cutting-edge cooling and heating solutions that enable data centers to operate efficiently and sustainably.

The company’s participation in Data Center Nation for the fourth consecutive year underscores its dedication to driving innovation and collaboration within the industry. Visitors to the Enex Technologies booth had the opportunity to explore the latest highly customizable solutions tailored to meet diverse operational needs; these includes adiabatic dry coolers, for less 25% of water consumption vs standard solution, evaporative towers and  water-cooled precision air conditioners , ensuring precise temperature control.
