Project Overview

Atop the iconic 14-story Coolse Poort building in Rotterdam, a new standard for sustainable climate technology has been set. Twelve Everest 290 heat pumps (six four-pipe and six two-pipe units) have been installed, delivering both performance and environmental responsibility in one of the city’s most prominent locations.

The Challenge

Modern high-rise buildings demand efficient, reliable, and sustainable HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) solutions. The Coolse Poort project required a system that could not only meet the building’s complex climate needs but also align with ambitious sustainability goals.

The Solution

The project brought together the expertise of several industry leaders:

  • Lok from Bodegraven: Responsible for the outstanding installation work
  • Adek Advisors: Provided detailed engineering and technical design
  • CSH Climate Solutions Holland: Ensured seamless execution and project management

At the heart of the solution are the Everest 290 heat pumps, powered by natural refrigerant R290 (propane). These units are designed for maximum modularity, allowing for flexible adaptation to the building’s requirements while minimizing environmental impact.

Key Benefits

  • Sustainability: Use of natural refrigerant R290 significantly reduces the system’s carbon footprint
  • Performance: Modular design ensures optimal efficiency and adaptability
  • Innovation: The installation sets a new benchmark for sustainable HVACR in high-rise buildings

Impact

The Everest 290 installation at Coolse Poort is more than just a technical achievement. It is a symbol of trust, innovation, and the future of climate technology. This project demonstrates that high performance and sustainability can, and must, go hand in hand.
