Logistic Center, Milan
A new logistics hub in northern Italy is now ready for business, setting a benchmark in performance and sustainability for the sector. With over 32,000 m² of gross floor area, this facility is designed to meet the most demanding operational standards while prioritizing environmental responsibility.
The Challenge
Modern logistics centers require advanced refrigeration solutions to ensure product integrity across temperature-sensitive zones. The challenge was to create a facility capable of handling large volumes, maintaining strict temperature control, and supporting decarbonization efforts.
The Solution
At the heart of the project are three Elba CO₂ Boosters, each equipped with heat recovery systems. These units are engineered to manage a 15,000 m² temperature-controlled zone, featuring five “box-in-the-box” cold rooms. These rooms can maintain temperatures ranging from -20°C to +7°C and are supported by dedicated thermo loading bays for efficient operations.
Key features include:
- Advanced Refrigeration Technology: Elba CO₂ Boosters with integrated heat recovery
- Flexible Temperature Control: Five cold rooms with a wide temperature range
- Sustainability: Systems designed to support decarbonization and energy efficiency
- Operational Excellence: Dedicated thermo loading bays for streamlined logistics
