Supermarket, Lambesc
Overview
A leading French retailer has taken a significant step toward sustainability by refitting its supermarket in Lambesc, a picturesque town in Southern France. The goal: to embrace the future of refrigeration and heating with a single, innovative solution.
The Challenge
Supermarkets face increasing pressure to reduce their environmental footprint while maintaining high performance in cooling, heating, and hot water supply. The retailer sought a system that could deliver on all fronts—efficiency, sustainability, and operational reliability—using natural refrigerants.
The Solution
The store’s transformation centered around the installation of a unique Senna CO₂ rack, configured in a 3+2+3 setup. This advanced system powers:
- Medium Temperature (MT) Refrigeration: 150 kW capacity
- Low Temperature (LT) Refrigeration: 30 kW capacity
- Domestic Hot Water (DHW) & Space Heating (SH): Enabled by dual heat recovery
To further boost energy efficiency, the installation incorporates combined liquid and vapor ejectors. This technology maximizes performance while minimizing energy consumption.
Results & Impact
The outcome is a single, integrated Climate-Tech system that meets every operational need—cooling, heating, and hot water—using only natural refrigerants. The solution delivers:
- High Performance: Reliable operation across all temperature zones
- Energy Efficiency: Enhanced by advanced ejector technology
- Sustainability: Reduced carbon footprint through the use of CO₂ and heat recovery
