Emicon launches new R290 brine chiller series

The RAS MC VB Kp includes air-cooled units, with cooling capacities ranging from 31 to 250 kW able to reach water outlet temperature down to -14°C.

Treviso, 21 December  2023 – Enex Technologies is proud to announce the launch of its series of Emicon ultimate propane brine chillers, designed to offer high performance, efficiency and environmental sustainability in medium temperature refrigeration applications

The propane chiller RAS MC VB Kp includes air-cooled units, with cooling capacities ranging from 31 to 250 kW. The systems are equipped with ATEX certified semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors, axial fans, condenser coils with microchannel technology which, thanks to the reduced internal volume and the large heat transfer surface, allow a great reduction of refrigerant charge and a high heat exchange capacity.

The unit can operate in all seasons with outdoor ambient temperatures from +40°C to -20°C, delivering a brine water outlet temperature down to -14°C. R290 is a natural refrigerant with an extremely low global warming potential (GWP) of 3, compared to R134a (GWP 1430) or R513A (GWP 675), two among the commonly used synthetic refrigerants. Propane also has excellent thermodynamic properties and allow the units to achieve high energy efficiency ratios (EER) and Seasonal Energy Performance Ratios (SEPR) up to 3.7 in MT applications (-8°C), reducing the operating costs.

“We are very excited to launch this new series of propane chillers, which represents a major step forward in our commitment to offer innovative and sustainable solutions. Propane is a natural refrigerant that has a minimal impact on the environment, and also allows us to achieve higher levels of efficiency and performance than synthetic refrigerants”. Luis Crespo Barber, Enex Technologies HVAC & Commercial Refrigeration BUs President, he also added: “With this series, we are able to meet the diverse needs and expectations of our customers, while also contributing to the global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.”

The RAS MC VB Kp propane chillers series is the result of a long-lasting experience and advanced research in the use of R290. Emicon is widely recognized as a leader in Europe as it has been producing and testing units with propane since 2007.

The propane chiller RAS MC VB Kp operation range from -2°C down to -14°C of brine outlet temperature makes this series suitable for various applications, such as food retail, food storage, food processing, winery and brewery, industrial processes and many more. The units are designed to meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety, and comply with the European regulations and safety standards for flammable refrigerants.

Other main features of the RAS MC VB Kp propane chiller include: 1 or 2 independents cooling circuits equipped with 1 or 2 compressors for each circuit, possibility to interface to BMS system and an Atex leak sensor and Atex extraction fans, in line with the strictest safety standards.

With the launch of the RAS MC VB Kp series of Emicon propane chillers, Enex Technologies reaffirms its commitment to developing innovative solutions that are not only efficient and effective, but also eco-friendly and future-proof.
