The only Climate Tech in Europe to offer innovative and efficient solutions using all natural refrigerants – ammonia, CO2, propane and water – has received the International Standard for GHG emissions inventory certification for its Enex and Emicon sites.
Treviso, IT, 29 January 2025 – Enex Technologies, the European Climate Tech Pioneer in Natural Refrigerants solutions, is pleased to announce that it has achieved the ISO 14064-1:2018 certification for two of its main industrial sites in Italy. ISO 14064 is an internationally recognized standard for managing and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
This certification follows a comprehensive audit confirming that operations of Enex and Emicon sites achieved a total output of 20,396 tCO2eq in 2023. The certified GHG emissions include:
- Scope 1: Direct GHG emissions (Gas combustion & Company Fleet)
- Scope 2: Indirect GHG emissions from imported energy
- Scope 3: indirect GHG emissions from transport (employee commuting, inbound and outbound logistics, business travel) and from materials used in production
The method of accounting for C02 eq. used to perform the calculation is based on the multiplication between the ‘Activity Data’, and the corresponding ‘Emission Factor’, derived from the authoritative sources as the IPCC 2023 – International Panel on Climate Change.
This recognition underscores the company’s dedication to transparency and accountability in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory management. It will enable Enex Technologies to optimize its data collection models and processes for reporting and to highlight gap areas to be further optimized.
“This certification is not just a badge of honor; it represents a deep-rooted commitment to implementing the highest international standards for sustainability reporting,” stated François Audo, CEO of Enex Technologies. “By gaining a comprehensive understanding of our manufacturing footprint and environmental impact, we are taking a vital and proactive step toward defining a more genuine and effective reduction strategy. As we look ahead, we are excited to leverage this data for continuous optimization.”
In a compelling move towards sustainable industry practices, Enex Technologies has accelerated its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) roadmap in the past nine months. This includes launching its inaugural Sustainability Policy, joining the United Nations Global Compact Network (UNGC) initiative, and being recognized by Ecovadis as a best case in sustainability practices, scoring significantly higher than the industry average—an achievement that highlights Enex’s leadership in the climate tech domain.
With its extensive combined history dating back to the 1930s, Enex Technologies remains committed to revolutionizing the HVACR landscape with cutting-edge, efficient solutions that promote the energy transition. Enex Technologies stands out not only for its innovative use of sustainable natural refrigerants but also for its commitment to transparency and accountability in emissions reporting.
