Treviso, 5 November 2026 – Enex Technologies, an Italian industrial company with a turnover of over 200 million euros and 12 plants in four countries of the European Union, focuses on data centers and hydrogen.
Specialized in industrial and commercial refrigeration and a leader in solutions with natural refrigerants to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact, it enhances production skills rooted in particular in the italian Northeast and nearby Romagna.
The innovation roadmap aims to introduce a new product every month, combining new platforms with the evolution of existing ranges that are applied, for example, in the refrigeration of the entire agri-food and pharmaceutical cold chain and in the air conditioning of critical and frontier infrastructures.
Among the novelties: In commercial refrigeration, RENO CO₂ Monoblock combines the refrigeration unit and gas cooler in a monobloc solution designed to simplify installation. The 2026 program also includes a 140-bar pressure option. For industrial applications, the MEGA ammonia chiller offers a factory-assembled configuration for outdoor installation, while developments in the CO₂ ranges and NH₃/CO₂ cascade systems expand the choice for different application needs.
In heating, the development of the Everest R290 platform includes modular configurations and hydronic integration. Isobutane (R600a) adds a fifth natural refrigerant to the company’s portfolio, alongside CO₂, ammonia, propane and water. The development of the water-to-water booster heat pump is geared towards the production of high-temperature heat for processes and the recovery of waste heat.
Heat dissipation is another element of the program. The V-shaped dry cooler is aimed at process applications and data centers, alongside the optimization of flat dry coolers. Enex also presented patented ice protection solutions that would allow the use of pure water in finned tube coils. The roadmap places further developments of glycol-free solutions in 2027.
Data centers are a strategic market: according to European Union forecasts, European capacity will triple in the next five to seven years, making efficient cooling and heat management essential.
The data center segment already accounts for 10% of total turnover. Enex Technologies plans to multiply this activity by ten over the next five years, accompanying the development of digital infrastructures and the demand for solutions aimed at reducing electricity and water consumption and the use of natural refrigerants. The use of dry coolers, for example, makes it possible to reduce water consumption from 60% to over 90% compared to traditional systems. The offer is based on the experience of the subsidiary Emicon, a pioneer since the eighties in precision air conditioning for telecommunications.
As far as hydrogen is concerned, the company is currently engaged in three pilot projects, two in Italy and one in Spain, with applications in production and in the distribution network. Solutions include dry coolers and CO₂ blast chillers, also through the development of dedicated patents.
These opportunities are also supported by the wealth of skills of the Veneto and Northeast, from refrigeration to components, from electronics to control systems and research.
To enhance the excellence of the district in which it is historically integrated, in April 2027, Enex will bring together institutions, customers, suppliers, universities and civil society in the Treviso area, the heart of the “Italian Cool & Heat Valley” to celebrate the 400 years of cumulative industrial history of its companies. The event aims to become a reference for the local cold and heat supply chain, promoting skills, investments and collaborations to face new technological and industrial challenges.
