Outdoor monoblock – Spain
Reliable cooling for high-speed rail infrastructure
The solution
As part of the Madrid–Seville high-speed railway line, a solution was adopted dedicated to cooling the rooms containing the transmission equipment for the railway signalling systems.
The system consists of an ON-OFF outdoor monoblock with integrated free-cooling, designed to ensure temperature control within the technical environments and support the continuous operation of the equipment.
The range includes four configurations, with cooling capacities of 5, 8, 10 and 12 kW, allowing the solution to be adapted to different thermal load needs.

Main features
- Application: Cooling of transmission equipment rooms for railway signalling
- Infrastructure: Madrid–Seville high-speed rail line
- Configuration: ON-OFF outdoor monobloc
- Integrated function: free-cooling
- Power supply: single-phase, 230 Vac / 50 Hz
- Refrigerant: R-134aC
- Cooling capacity: 5 – 8 – 10 – 12 kW
- Air flows: Intake from the upper front section and expulsion from the lower front section
Customer value
The integration of free-cooling makes it possible to take advantage of favorable external climatic conditions to contribute to the cooling of the equipment room, limiting the operation of mechanical refrigeration when not necessary.
The outdoor configuration and the particular management of air flows allow the system to be integrated into railway technical infrastructures, guaranteeing a compact and functional solution for the thermal control of signalling and transmission equipment.
Result
An air conditioning solution developed for a high-speed railway infrastructure, capable of combining configuration flexibility, free-cooling and operational efficiency in a system dedicated to railway technical environments.
5 | 8 | 10 | 12 kW
